社交媒体流传分发RM3000和全面发放RM500援助金之消息纯属空穴来风：
槟州华人大会堂于2017年11月7日（星期二）开放申请的赈灾援助金主要是为了协助受严重水灾影响的低收入槟城灾民。
居住在重灾区的灾民、一个马来西亚援助金受惠者及基本生活受严重影响的申请者将会被优先考虑。目前有许多申请者不符合基本申请条件或呈交的申请文件不齐全，审查小组将视个别情况审批，因此不是所有申请者皆可得到此援助金。
所分发数目有待会议讨论后，视所筹获之乐捐数额和申请審批后而定。华堂将以透明度及点滴归公形式发放给需要而合格者。
槟州华人大会堂重灾区赈灾援助金分发事宜仍有待开会议决，一切请以本堂网站公布之文告为依据。
其他资讯纯属谣言，吁请大众停止散播不确实的消息。

The Penang Chinese Town Hall Flood Relief Fund, set up on 7 November 2017, is mainly to assist low-income flood victims who are severely affected by floods. Residents living in hardest-hit areas, registered BR1M low income group and facing basic living difficulties will be given priority.
Currently, many applicants do not meet the basic application requirements or submitted incomplete application documents. The scrutinize team will assess all applicants on a case by case basis. Accordingly, not all applicants are entitled for the relief fund.
The amount to be distributed will depend on the number of qualified and deserving applicants and the amount of donation received. The Penang Chinese Town Hall Flood Relief Fund will be distributed in a transparent manner to the needy and qualified people.
The scrutinizing team will meet to process the application and decide on the distribution of Flood Relief Fund.
